the lead-gen mistake your brain keeps making...

Something happened on my group call this week that I can't stop thinking about.

One of my clients ~ very experienced in his niche and an "AI-forward thinker" ~ was inspired by a post I made in my free community.

He had the idea to build a vibe-coded report + proposal webpage system that he could deliver to a lead after a "pick-my-brain" sales call.

His thinking was solid:
Nobody in his industry is doing this.
It would make him stand out.

And it's a great idea - no doubt about it
It was just the right idea at the wrong time.
​Our excitement over allllll the things we could do with AI often gets the best of us!

Here's what I saw that he hadn't figured out...

He said that 'when he's on a Zoom call, face-to-face, it builds trust."

A webpage report doesn't replicate that. It's a "nice to have," not a "must have."
(A custom, high-touch email would convert better for his ideal client.)

BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY - it doesn't solve the problem he actually has.

The real problem is that he doesn't have enough lead flow and sales calls.

This is a super common mistake.
We get pulled toward the project that feels exciting and creative ~ like AI giving us leverage. When in reality, fixing a lead-gen and visibility problem requires a different and often less sexy strategy.

So instead of mapping out the AI-powered report-creation project, we roadmapped a lead-gen project that will bring him more leads - and use the AI-powered Director of Marketing he's already built.
