I just heard somebody say that AI Skills are a system.

WHAT THE ACTUAL !@#$%.

NO. I respectfully disagree ~ and here's why...

A *skill* is one task, done to your specs:
• Write this email.
• Build this carousel.
• Draft this proposal.
• Update my P&L spreadsheet.

Having a skill do these tasks is great - BUT...
It doesn't know what comes before it - or after it.

Imagine this:
50 people (aka employees) standing around in a big room.
Each one's got a task they're good at. Some do marketing. Some sales. Some do customer support.

Sound familiar?
This might very well be your Claude account right now if you've been collecting Skills.

Without department heads to tell them which tasks are theirs vs. the person standing next to them, it's just a group of people grabbing tasks randomly.

No system. No structure. No one in charge.

This is what happens when you install a bunch of Skills into Claude.
​It asks each one, every single time, "Can you do this? Is this task for you?"

→ What if more than one says YES?
→ What if no one raises their hand even though you could have sworn you have a Skill for that...
😱 Now you've got a Claude wasting time and credits asking and searching.

This is the management headache waiting for you in your Claude account.

(Btw, this is exactly why I never bought into the "build 100+ AI employees" hype.)

More employees standing around doesn't mean more gets done. It means more chaos, unless you have structure.

So NO - I don't think Skills are the silver bullet *system* you're looking for.
(Even though a lot of people are selling them that way right now.)

But just to be clear:
I'm not saying don't use Skills. I 💛 Skills.

They're extremely powerful inside an AI-leveraged system.
