What a week, Reader!
Welcome to the Weekly Edit of tools I'm testing, trends I'm watching, and events worth attending!
If these past two weeks of new platform features (Grokbot), new LLM model rollouts (Claude and ChatGPT), and updated image generation tools (ChatGPT and Google) are any indication of the velocity of AI right now, it's going to be a realllly interesting Fall and Q4. Let's get into it...

ChatGPT Updates: Learns Your Voice & Connects To Dropbox
|
|
FIRST...We're always trying to get our AI to sound more natural ~ more like "us." Now ChatGPT Work has new "Personalization settings" that allow it to pick up on what makes your writing more "you." It will pick up on your favorite phrases, specific sign-off, and capitalization quirks. (I'm sure it will see that I overuse the ellipsis...🙋♀️)
Go to Settings → Personalization → Writing style. It will apply to all your messages across ChatGPT Work on web and mobile. Available on web for all paid plans with access to ChatGPT Work. ----------
SECOND (and this gives me another reason to use ChatGPT more!), ChatGPT just added native Library integration with Dropbox, Box, and SharePoint.
Much like Google Drive, you can now connect Dropbox to ChatGPT and pull files or entire folders into regular chats without manually uploading everything.
And THIS is why Dropbox suddenly gets more interesting to me.
If you're building AI systems in tools like Claude CoWork/Code or ChatGPT Work/Codex, you often need certain files available locally on your computer ~ things like your operating system docs, brand files, instructions, or .md files your AI employees use as their "second brain."
Dropbox gives you the best of both worlds:
You can keep those files synced locally across multiple computers or workstations, so your AI tools can access them where they need them.
AND now those same Dropbox folders are directly accessible inside regular ChatGPT conversations too.
So instead of deciding, "Do I keep this in Google Drive for easy AI access, or locally for my AI systems?" Dropbox can become the bridge between the two.
If you regularly work from more than one computer, this gets especially useful.

What is an "AI Harness"?
|
|
Maybe you’ve heard the word “harness” floating around in AI and wondered what it actually means.
I wanted to know too, so I asked ChatGPT to explain it to me like a sixth grader.
A harness for AI is basically the system wrapped around the AI model that helps it do useful work reliably.
The easiest way to think about it:
The AI model is the brain.
The harness is everything around the brain that helps guide it and get it to actually do things.
Or, here’s an even easier analogy:
AI model / LLM = The Horse Harness = the saddle, bridle, bit, stirrups, reins, etc.
The horse has the power. The harness helps you guide that power toward a specific job.
And I realized...
That’s exactly what The Solo Expert OS™ is.
It’s a harness for using AI to run parts of your business ~ giving it the context, instructions, tools, skills, and structure it needs to actually get work done.
Without hiring. Without a bloated backend. And without becoming an AI expert.

AI Employee of the Week: MARY ~ My Money Director
|
|
Every year I wait until the very last minute of the extension period to file my taxes. Call it an ADHD mental block. It's one of the most excruciating tasks I do all year ~ even when I'm getting money back.🤦♀️
This year I handed it to MARY instead.
Me: We need to do my 2025 taxes. MARY: On it ~ starting with your Dropbox tax folders so we can see what's already there for 2025 and what's missing.
From there, MARY found my 2024 P&L to pull the categories and setup I like. I downloaded the expenses from my bank account and PayPal, told her my income from Stripe, and handed it over.
→ NOTE: I did NOT connect my bank or Stripe to MARY.
35 minutes later, she handed me a ready-to-review Google Sheet. Done.
This is just one example of how non-techie AI users like you and me can use an agentic platform like Grokbot to run AI employees that take 75% of the work off our plate.

DON'T FORGET: Audit & Clean-Out Your AI Skills
|
|
If you've been skill-hoarding for the past several months, it's time for a checkup and clean-out.
Chances are you're only using a quarter to a third of the skills you've collected and installed.
→ Go through your installed skills → Look for duplicates, overlapping skills, and the ones you got excited about but have never needed → Turn off or uninstall the ones you haven't touched
A lean, clean system runs faster than a bloated one. It saves you time and burns less credits in your AI sytem.
